Tell me who will watch it
Start with the audience and one main message. Is this an app walkthrough, a brand introduction or a reel for an existing customer? That choice affects the opening, the pace and how much explanation the edit needs.
Also tell me where the video will appear. A website film and an Instagram reel can use the same footage, but they may need different framing and a different first few seconds.
Send the files in a clear order
Keep footage, audio, logos and references in separate folders. Use file names that mean something. If a particular quote or shot must be included, send the file name and an approximate time.
Let me know what is missing or still waiting for approval. An unfinished voiceover or changing script can affect the edit. Check that supplied music, fonts and footage can be used for the project.
Say what you like about a reference
Two or three examples are enough. Tell me what you like: the pace, the colour, the captions or the way the product is explained. A link with no explanation leaves a lot to guess.
Send brand guidelines too. If the new video needs to fit an existing campaign, I want to see that work before I start.
Agree on versions and feedback
List the main video and the other versions separately. Include duration, aspect ratios, captions and languages. Discuss project files and future changes as part of the scope.
Choose one person to collect feedback. A single list with time stamps is much easier to work through than separate messages from several people. Agree on the review rounds and delivery date before editing begins.
A short brief you can use
If you are planning a project with Frames by Narendra, send these details with your message. If you do not have every answer yet, that is fine. We can work through the remaining decisions together.
